PASTORAL CARE AT WESLEY UNITED CHURCH

Pastoral Care: Our ministers are available, as time permits, to visit people in their home and in the hospital. It is helpful if people call the office and let the staff know when someone is hospitalized. If you leave a message at the office 1-306-586-5220 be assured that this number is checked regularly and staff will respond as soon as possible. Volunteers are also involved in pastoral care through visitation and telephone calls.

Friendship Boards: All visitors to Wesley who have signed the friendship boards receive a letter of “thanks for attending” and an invitation to come back and participate in the life and work of our church.

Membership: Volunteers and staff are responsible for maintaining a current roll of baptisms, marriages, transfers and demissions for Wesley records.

Meals on Wheels: Organized volunteers deliver meals every Friday year round to those in Area 4.

Welcoming Committee: Each Sunday volunteers are scheduled to welcome congregation members at the doors of the church.

House Committee: The concept of Sharing the Workload continues to be successful at Wesley. Congregation members serve coffee every Sunday after church and cater to church events throughout the year.

Congregational Fellowship:  Volunters organize social activities for the congregation including the Golf Fun Day and Picnic, and various social teas.

Other Boards: Wesley is represented on the Board of the United Church Housing Corporation which operates two low cost housing facilities for Regina senior citizens: Hewitt Place and Mutchmor Lodge. Clare Parker House also has a representative from Wesley on their Board.
